All of our staff are permanent employees. We only employ bank staff (temporary staff) to assist during the long holidays, when many of our staff take their leave and very occasionally in the Nursery if there is a need for emergency cover.
We don’t have a big staff turnover . . . ten have been here five years or more and six of these over 10 years. Whilst these are impressive statistics in themselves, it’s what it means for the children in our care that counts.
Training
Our aim is that all our staff have a first aid qualification, which they are encouraged to update every third year, and that all staff have a basic food hygiene qualification. New staff without these qualifications will be encouraged to attend courses as soon as possible.
Continuous update of training, such as Child Protection and First Aid, is done as a group within the nursery. All staff are encouraged to attend.
